My name is Judy Burns - I am a classically trained pianist and have a Bachelor of Music in Piano degree from Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, and attended two years of advanced piano classes at the Juilliard School Extension Division in New York City.

I have over 40 years of teaching experience, and enjoy teaching all ages, from school aged children through adults.

I offer private lessons on a weekly basis.

• 30 or 45 minute lessons
• Teaching focuses on classical styles but popular music can also be taught.
• Incentives for practice include periodic informal "piano parties" and playing with and before other students.
• Opportunities are provided for students to earn ribbons and statuettes of various composers.
• Opportunity for performance in recitals.

My studio includes:

• A spacious teaching area
• Two lovely 7-foot grand pianos which provide opportunities for learning duets and/or music for two pianos.
• A player piano to interest students in piano and music in general.

Before moving to Austin in 2007, I was the leader of the Memorial Area Piano Teachers Association in Houston for six years.
